Year of the gorilla 2009
Goorilo has made his decision: it’s time to make his family bigger. Because of this, and as our own way to celebrate the 2009 as the Year of the Gorilla, we have set ourselves the goal of adopting a mother and an infant gorillas via the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International (DFGFI).
To reach that goal we need your help. For every order you make through our online shop, we will donate 10% of the final price to make the adoption real. Whenever you want to know how much is left to complete our mission, you just have to take a look at the progress bar which you will find in the upper part of our webpage.
Today, there are less than 1000 mountain gorillas in the wild. With the adoption, we will be able to support the very important conservation tasks DFGFI promotes and so, with your help, we will be able to protect Goorilo’s species and grant their existence.
2009 has been declared the Year of the Gorilla by the UNEP Convention on Migratory Species (CMS), the UNEP/UNESCO Great Apes Survival Partnership (GRASP) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA). This campaign aims to the conservation of this species endangered by the destruction of its habitat by the human being.
